Getting around the building
There are four steps up to the main entrance, and there is no lift — every upper floor is reached by stairs only. If stairs are difficult, please contact us before you book and we will tell you exactly what to expect.
What we can confirm today
- Reception is staffed around the clock, so there is always someone to ask for help, whatever time you arrive.
- Luggage storage is available, so you do not have to carry bags up before check-in or after check-out.
- Check-in — From 13:30. Tell us your arrival time and we will have someone ready to meet you.
Getting around inside
There are bedrooms on the ground floor, reachable without stairs once you are inside — though the four entrance steps still apply to everyone. Every other bedroom is up stairs.
What this building cannot do
We would rather say this plainly than have you find out on arrival.
- No adapted bathrooms. Every room has a private bathroom, but none has grab rails, a level-access shower or a shower seat.
- No bedroom doorway is wide enough for a wheelchair. The doorways are the standard widths of a Victorian house.
- The fire alarms do not give a visual signal, and there is no hearing loop at reception. If you are deaf or hard of hearing, please tell us before you book so we can agree how you would be alerted.
Assistance dogs
Assistance dogs are welcome. The hotel does not otherwise accept animals, but that rule does not apply to a registered assistance dog — you do not need to ask permission, though telling us in advance helps us prepare the room.
This website
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA on the booking site: it works with a keyboard alone, the text can be enlarged in your browser without breaking the layout, form fields are labelled, and colour is never the only way information is given.
